The Simpsons season 35 will drop later this year and it will allow the Fox adult animated comedy to add to its streak as the longest-running American animated series. South Park comes in at #2 with 26 seasons.
The Hollywood Reporter recently revealed that season 35 will kick off on October 1, with The Simpsons in its familiar 8 pm timeslot. It will be followed by the new animated series Krapopolis at 8:30 pm, Bob's Burgers at 9 pm, and Family Guy at 9:30 pm.
Season 34 of The Simpsons was generally well-received by critics, who noted that the season was somewhat of a return to form for the long-running show after several consecutive seasons of declining quality. In particular, critics praised season 34 for its humor, its writing, and its willingness to experiment with new formats.
Earlier this year, The Simpsons were renewed for seasons 35 and 36, which will take the show through the 2024-25 television season.
The Simpsons season 34 ratings averaged a 0.61 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.95 million total viewers. These numbers were slightly down from the previous season, which averaged a 0.63 rating with 2.02 million viewers.
