For quite some time, there have been persistent rumors that Spider-Man would make an appearance in season two of Invincible which originate from the fact that Mark Grayson travels to another universe at this point in the tale of the original comic book. It's here that he encounters Spider-Man and a few other members of the Avengers.
Further fueling fan excitement, Spectacular Spider-Man voice actor Josh Keaton has hinted that he may be appearing in the show this season but never elaborated any further, leaving fan imaginations to run wild.
But given the complexity of Spider-Man character rights between Marvel and Sony, will this really happen in an Amazon animated series?
Online scooper @MyTimeToShine, recently stirred the rumor mill up anew but we now have word from IP creator, Robert Kirkman.
Said Kirkman, "Would that we could pull the powers of Amazon and Disney and Marvel and everybody together! Wouldn’t that be an amazing thing? But I wouldn’t count on it. And that’s not a tease."
Kirkman also addressed the potential of a crossover back in October, calling it "tricky" to pull off.
While Kirkman is (seemingly) putting a damper on the possibility of a Spider-Man appearance this season, he did bring a new clip from Season 2 Part 2, which you can view below.
Invincible Season 2 Part 2 will return on on March 14. Four episodes remain in the show's second season, which initially premiered on November 3, 2023, before going on a midseason hiatus.
Kirkman previously stated that Prime Video employed this tactic to cut down on the time between seasons, however, fans have been less than thrilled with having episodes spaced out in this fashion.
