While Superman: Legacy will kick off the new DCU in theaers, we'll get a glimpse into that world when Creature Commandos launches on Max sometime next year.

While very little has been revealed about the animated series, we know the actors who lend their voices to the characters here will also play them in live-action. That's all part of DC Studios' plan to create a shared world akin to the MCU, and James Gunn has just shared a big update on the show.

Taking to Threads, the filmmaker confirmed Creature Commandos will consist of 7 episodes and revealed the cast has finished recording their roles. He also teased a memorable soundtrack for The Suicide Squad spin-off, something we expect to be a recurring theme throughout the new DCU.

Even a lot of hardcore comic book fans aren't overly familiar with this group of freakish heroes, so we're intrigued to see how audiences respond to them. We also can't help but wonder what clues this series will provide when it comes to the DCU's tone and what this new reality actually looks like.

Creature Commandos stars Frank Grillo as Rick Flag, Sr., Indira Varma as Bride of Frankenstein, Zoë Chao as Nina Mazursky, David Harbour as Eric Frankenstein, Alan Tudyk as Doctor Phosphorus, Sean Gunn as G.I. Robot and Weasel, Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana Rostovic, Steve Agee as John Economos, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.

The series sees Amanda Waller create a black ops team out of monstrous prisoners. Gunn wrote all of the first season's episodes.

Check out Gunn's comments in the Threads below.
