Last week, Disney officially announced that Pixar's upcoming animated movie, Soul, would no longer be coming to theatres but rather will be available on the Disney+ streaming service from December 25th, 2020 — more on that here. The COVID-19 pandemic has truly caused quite a kerfuffle for the film and cinema industry, this is only the latest affectee.
Soul is about a man named Joe Gardner, who is a middle school band teacher and given the chance to play at the best jazz club in town. Unfortunately, a minor misstep on his way there sends him to The Great Before — which is where souls get their personalities before coming to Earth. While there, Joe meets a fellow soul named 22 and sets off to discover the answers to some of life's most important questions.
The voice cast includes Academy Award-winner Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, Questlove, Phylicia Rashad, Daveed Diggs, Angela Bassett, John Ratzenberger, and Richard Ayoade. What's more, some new cast members were recently announced. Those include Graham Norton, Rachel House, Alice Braga, We Studi, Fortune Feimster, Zenobia Shroff, Donnell Rawlings, and June Squibb.
Along with the new cast announcements, Disney dropped an awesome trailer and poster for Soul which you can check out below (via Disney-Pixar):
