Although it has been available to stream on Disney+ for some time now, Luca hit Blu-ray and digital this week. The coming-of-age feature includes a plot that focuses on two children who happen to be monsters from the sea.
However, USA Today has released an exclusive look at a scene that was deleted from the film, along with an explanation of what was initially intended to happen. It turns out that one of the things removed was an entire character.
By the name of Chincho, the character was a third sea monster. As explained in the video below, he was meant to be the third wheel of the group until that idea was ultimately nixed from the script.
What do you guys think of this reveal? Do you think the film could have been more interesting with the inclusion of another sea monster kid, or are you happy with Luca as is?
Regardless of your thoughts, be sure to share them in the usual spot! We've also included the synopsis and trailer for Luca as well.
Set in a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera, Disney and Pixar’s original feature film “Luca” is a coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta, and endless scooter rides. Luca shares these adventures with his newfound best friend, but all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: they are sea monsters from another world just below the water’s surface.
Luca is now available on Disney+ and was released on Blu-ray this week.
