Due to the animated nature of their films, Disney's Pixar hasn't had to slow down during the pandemic. In fact, the company actually released two films in 2020, a year barren of movies.
Both Onward and Soul were released in the last year. Both received excellent responses, with the latter cleaning up at the Academy Awards and essentially every other awards ceremony. This year, the company is continuing forward with its newest release, Luca.
Next month on June 18th, Luca will hit Disney+, bringing the latest Pixar imagination (and the Pixar Universe theory) to fans of the animated brilliance the studio is known for. To promote the upcoming film, Pixar has teamed up with Mattel to release a new line of toys featuring the characters of Luca.
