Next month, get ready to return to Bikini Bottom. Nickelodon announced The Patrick Star Show, the second spinoff of the number-one animated series SpongeBob SquarePants, will debut on July 9 as part of a double head that also features the debut of Middlemost Post.
The Patrick Star Show follows a younger Patrick Star as he lives at home with his family and hosts his own variety show for the neighborhood from his television-turned-bedroom. Based on the trailer that was released alongside the announcement, you can expect to see all sorts of silly antics from the brighest star in Bikini Bottom as his wild whims and surreal imagination constantly disrupts the rest of his family.
The Patrick Star Show's premiere episode, "Late for Breakfast," will see Patrick present a show "about food after missing out on a heart breakfast." Then in "Bummer Jobs," Patrick and SpongeBob will "experience the wonders of the workforce."
Bill Fagerbakke is returning to voice young adult Patrick alongside a talented group of voice actors bringing to life Patrick's family. Tom Wilson (SpongeBob SquarePants) voices Cecil Star, Patrick’s fun-loving, happy-go-lucky dad who always puts his family first; Cree Summer (Rugrats) voices Bunny Star, Patrick’s loving, sea star mom who is a kooky oddball; Jill Talley (SpongeBob SquarePants) voices Squidina Star, Patrick’s 8-year-old little sister who works the show behind-the-scenes and drinks her coffee from a sippy cup; and Dana Snyder (The Penguins of Madagascar) voices GrandPat Star, Patrick’s genius grandpa. Summer also voices Squidward's grandma, Grandma Tentacles.
The Patrick Star Show is the second spinoff of SpongeBob Squarepants, following in the footsteps of Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years, which debuted in March on Paramount+. The Patrick Star Show will premiere on July 9 at 7:00 p.m., with new episodes rolling out every Friday night on Nickelodeon.
