Based on the 2008 children's book of the same name by Lois Lowry; The Willoughbys is a new animated film that's exclusively available on the Netflix streaming service. Produced by Bron Animation, Kris Pearn serves as director.
It's a tale of a dysfunctional family. The Willoughby children aren't too fond of their parents and believe that they're more fit to raise themselves. After launching a sneaky plan which sends their parents on vacation, the children embark on their own high-flying adventure to find the true meaning of family. It's wholesome, in the end.
Will Forte and Alessia Cara star as Tim and Jane Willoughby respectively. The voice cast also includes Maya Rudolph, Martin Short, Jane Krakowski, Terry Crews, and Ricky Gervais. The latter serves as the narrator of the film who is also the family's pet cat.
Earlier this week, Netflix released two official clips from the animated movie online. You can check both of those out here. However, if you're subscribed to Netflix, you can now watch the entire film! The Willoughbys is now officially streaming on Netflix — seemingly everywhere that the streaming service itself is available. Here's a link to the movie's official Netflix page.
