ParaNorman is a stop-motion animated horror comedy film that premiered back in 2012. It's produced by Laika, the animation studio responsible for such other stop-motion classics as Coraline, Kubo and the Two Strings, and Missing Link.
Directed by Sam Fell, co-directed and written by Chris Butler; ParaNorman is about a young boy who can communicate with the undead. Making use of his unique ability, Norman Babcock bands together with a few companions in an attempt to save their town from a witch's curse.
The animated film's runtime is 92 minutes (that's just over an hour and a half). The voice cast includes Kodi Smit-McPhee, Jodelle Ferland, Bernard Hill, Tucker Albrizzi, Anna Kendrick, Casey Affleck, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Leslie Mann, Jeff Garlin, Elaine Stritch, Tempestt Bledsoe, Alex Borstein, and John Goodman.
The animated film was reviewed positively for the most part; and it was a modest box office success, having earned $107 million from a $60 million budget. ParaNorman was nominated for the "Best Animated Feature" Academy Award and the BAFTA Award for "Best Animated Film."
If you haven't gotten around to seeing ParaNorman yet, or are simply a big fan of the Laika stop-motion animated film, well now is as good a time as ever as it's now available to stream on Netflix (via What's on Netflix).
