A new hybrid limited series is making its way to Netflix. Titled Lost Ollie, this show takes elements of Pixar's Toy Story and flips them upside down a bit. Ollie is a wayward toy who must find his way back to Billy, the child who lost him.

The heartfelt story sees our hero journey the countryside and brave many dangers in order to reach his goal, but no matter what, he still treks forward. Ollie isn't alone, though, he is accompanied by a slew of fellow toy companions that wish to see him reunited with the child who he belongs to.

The limited series is based on Ollie's Odyssey, a work of award-winning filmmaker, author, and illistrator, William Joyce. Caroline's Shannon Tindle takes the spot of creator and pulls double duty as both its executive producer and writer. Peter Ramsey of Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse fame will take on the directing task as well as acting as an executive producer.

Shawn Levy and Josh Barry are there to executive produce for 21 Laps Entertainment while Emily Morris is there to act as the co-executive producer. Brandon Oldenburg and Lampton Enochs are also there to executive produce.

As for casting, the show has a decent selection with Jonathan Groff taking the lead role of Ollie. Other actors a part of the tale include Tim Blake Nelson, Jake Johnson, Gina Rodriguez, Kesler Talbot, and Mary J. Blige.

Lost Ollie arrives on Netflix on August 24.
