WB Developing Animated DC SUPER PETS Movie Featuring Krypto, Ace And More

Given Marvel Studios iron-like grip on the live-action superhero front, perhaps Warner Bros. should look at animated superhero pics? DC Super Pets could be the first step in that direction.

Screenwriter Jared Stern has been something of the go-to guy for animated pics at Warner Bros.  Having previously written  The LEGO Batman Movie and The LEGO Ninjago Movie, Collider is reporting that Stern is now penning an animated film vehicle for DC's Super Pets.

It's presently unclear whether any previous comics or cartoon series will be used as the basis for the film, however, the film is expected to include some mixture of Krypto the Super-Dog, Streaky the Super-Cat, Ace the Bathound, Aquaman’s seahorse Storm, and Harley Quinn’s hyenas Bud and Lou. It's likely that the film could also see super pet counterparts created for Wonder Woman, Cyborg, The Flash and other Justice League members.

After several misfires on the live-action superhero front, perhaps WB's is looking to examine animated possibilities?  After all, Disney's The Incredibles 2 just recently eclipsed the $1 billion mark and looks to have a real shot at surpassing the all-time box office total set by Frozen.
