Dr. Seuss is, of course, the renowned writer responsible for such works as "The Cat in the Hat," "Green Eggs and Ham," and more. Well, Warner Bros. Animation is developing a new universe based on these works.
According to Variety, Warner Animation Group are working on adaptations of "Oh, The Places You'll Go!" as well as "The Cat in the Hat" and "Thing One and Thing Two."
Firstly, we'll talk Oh, The Places You'll Go!. J.J. Abrams, best known for directing two instalments in the recent Star Wars sequel trilogy, and Hannah Minghella are producing the adaptation of this book through their company, Bad Robot Productions. This will mark the company's first feature animation project. Oh, The Places You'll Go! is set to debut in theatres in 2027.
Thing One and Thing Two is set to arrive in theatres a year earlier in 2026. However, even sooner than that, The Cat in the Hat will debut in theatres in 2024. The latter adaptation shall be directed by Erica Rivinoja and Art Hernandez who are best known for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 and Planes respectively.
Susan Brandt, President of Dr. Seuss Enterprises, said the following about the upcoming projects:
“Warner Animation Group truly understands the timelessness of Dr. Seuss, the incredible impact of the characters and stories, and how to translate the magical appeal to truly come to life on screen. With the amazing talent they are bringing to these projects, we are looking forward to bringing Oh, The Places You’ll Go! and Thing One and Thing Two to fans in a way that will delight them, capture their imaginations, and inspire them to read and re-read the stories."
