Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc gang made their live-action debut in Raja Gosnell’s 2002 film Scooby-Doo and its 2004 sequel, Scooby-Doo: Monsters Unleashed. Guardians Of The Galaxy’s James Gunn penned both films. Unfortunately, despite Matthew Lillard’s spot-on portrayal of Shaggy, the films were critically reviled and the sequel made significantly less money at the box office.
Tony Cervone will helm the fully animated Scooby-Doo feature film. Chris Columbus, Pam Coats and Allison Abbate are attached as producers.
With the recent additions of Seyfried and Efron, the entire Scooby Gang has been cast. Will Forte will voice Shaggy, Gina Rodriguez is Velma and Frank Welker will reprise his role as Scooby-Doo.
In the new film, the Mystery Inc gang will team up with other characters in the Hanna-Barbera universe to save the world from the evil Dick Dastardly.
Scoob will be released on May 2020.
