It has almost been two months since the fourth
Toy Story movie arrived in theatres. Back in 2010,
Toy Story 3 was the highest grossing animated film of all time. It made over a billion dollars at the box office and now
Toy Story 4 has joined its ranks.
According to
Box Office Mojo, the fourth installment crossed the notable mark on Tuesday. It's the sixth film of this year to make more than $1 billion at the box office. Like
Toy Story 4, the other five are Disney films and they are as follows:
Captain Marvel,
Avengers: Endgame,
Aladdin,
Spider-Man: Far From Home, and
The Lion King.
Currently,
Toy Story 4 is the fourth highest grossing Pixar film — having made less than
Toy Story 3,
Finding Dory, and
Incredibles 2. However, it's theatrical run isn't quite over yet.
At the moment, the fourth
Toy Story film is the ninth highest grossing animated film of all time — behind the aforementioned three and
The Lion King,
Frozen,
Minions,
Despicable Me 3, and
Zootopia.
