Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse released back in December and received universal acclaim. The Academy Award-winning animated movie is full to the brim with webslingers, however, Tom Holland recently revealed that an earlier version would've featured at least one more.
Holland is known for playing Peter Parker AKA Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and, in promotion of his forthcoming movie
Spider-Man: Far From Home; the actor revealed to
JOE that he was supposed to make a cameo appearance in
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Evidently, this cameo never came to fruition as it's absent from the final cut of the film.
"At one point I was supposed to be in it,” Holland said, before detailing the cut scene.
“There was going to be another Peter Parker [in addition to the one voiced by Jake Johnson]. There was like a scene in a train station or something, and it was going to be like an Easter egg. I was going to walk through the background or something, and say like ‘Hey, kid.’”
Though he unfortunately didn't end up appearing in the film, Holland admitted that he's a big fan of
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse as well as the character of Miles Morales in general and therefore would love for him to make the jump into the Marvel Cinematic Universe one day:
“He’s really, really good in it. I’m just excited to introduce Miles into our own universe one day. I think that’s going to be really good.”
