Ever since the first teaser trailer, TMNT fans have been very excited to see what The Mitchells Vs The Machines co-director Jeff Rowe and writers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have in store for the Heroes in a Half-Shell with their upcoming animated reboot, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.
Positive first reactions only heightened anticipation, and Rogen is now promising that the movie won't have any "boring scenes."
While speaking to Empire, the long-time Turtles fan explained why they decided to go with the movie's unique animation style.
“The film itself is permeated with this teenage energy – where you don’t stay in the lines, and you’re pushing harder on the stuff that you like, and you’re impressionably scribbling in the background,” Rogen tells the mag. “We started to write to the animation style. It needed to capture that – we can never have boring scenes, because the movie itself just seems to be crackling with energy.”
“After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.”
Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu and Brady Noon will voice the roles of Donatello, Michelangelo, Leonardo and Raphael, respectively. The cast also includes Jackie Chan as Splinter, Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog, Rose Byrne as Leatherhead, Ice Cube as Superfly, Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut, Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil, Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, Post Malone as Ray Fillet, Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko, and Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom.
Jeff Rowe (The Mitchells vs. the Machines) directed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, which is produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
