Over the past few months, Illumination has introduced us to several characters we'll see in
The Secret Life of Pets 2. The sequel to 2016's CGI-animated blockbuster will feature a mix of familiar faces and newcomers, one of which is Harrison Ford's Rooster, a grumpy, no-nonsense dog from the farm.
The latest trailer for
The Secret Life of Pets 2 serves as Rooster's formal introduction, though we only get a glimpse of Ford's character. Rather, we're shown more of the film's mysterious plot as Max and Duke take a road trip to a farm where they encounter all sorts of animals and smells they've never experienced before.
The Secret Life of Pets 2 will follow summer 2016’s blockbuster about the lives our pets lead after we leave for work or school each day. Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborator Janet Healy will produce the sequel to the comedy that had the best opening ever for an original film, animated or otherwise.
In addition to Harrison Ford,
The Secret Life of Pets 2 will welcome
Tiffany Haddish as the voice of Daisy. Max, of course, will be returning, but
voicing the lead dog is Patton Oswalt, taking over for the now infamous comedian Louis C.K. We've also seen two hilarious trailers for
Gidget and
Chloe.
The Secret Life of Pets 2 arrives in theaters on June 7, 2019.
