Another actor has joined the cast of Paramount's
Snake Eyes solo movie. Iko Uwais is best known for featuring in
The Raid. He'll be playing Hard Master — according to a new report by
The Hollywood Reporter. The character is a martial arts expert who will serve as a mentor for the titular commando.
Before the
Snake Eyes movie, there were attempts to bring the
G.I. Joe franchise to the big screen. Notably, Hard Master made an appearance in 2009's
G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra and was played by Gerald Okamura.
Prior to the announcement that Uwais will be joining the cast, the
Snake Eyes movie had two actors already attached.
Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians) will be playing the the titular character and
Andrew Koji (Warrior) will be playing, Snake Eyes' nemesis, Storm Shadow.
Robert Schwentke (
Divergent) is attached as director and Evan Spiliotopoulos is penning the film's script.
Snake Eyes will arrive in theaters on October 16, 2020.
