The first trailer for Jon Favreau's highly-anticipated remake of, 1994 animated classic, The Lion King has released and sees the recreation of one of the film's most iconic moments: Rafiki holds Simba aloft Pride Rock amid a wild ceremony.

Shots are more or less identical to their original, animated version and as such; this new video recreates the trailer using shots from the 1994 version - putting it alongside the original trailer. Whether it's a good thing that the film is such an identical recreation seems to vary from person to person.

Check out the video below:

Donald Glover (Solo: A Star Wars Story, Spider-Man: Homecoming) will play the lead of Simba, Beyonce Knowles (singer-songwriter) will voice Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange, 12 Years A Slave) will voice Scar, Seth Rogen (Superbad, Neighbors) will voice Pumbaa, Billy Eichner will voice Timon, John Oliver will voice Zazu, the likes of Keegan-Michael Key, Eric Andre, and more will feature, as well as James Earl Jones who will be reprising the role of Mufasa.

What do you think of the video? Are you looking forward to the live-action/CGI remake?

The Lion King is set to arrive in theatres on July 19th, 2019.
