There's less than one week to go until Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse swings into theaters, and a very intriguing plot point has now been revealed in new character artwork.

As well as offering our best look yet at several members of the Spider Society (including a Cyborg Spider-Man to go along with the movie's Cyborg Spider-Woman), some fresh intel on Scarlet Spider's role may have also been revealed. For starters, we see him unmasked and, as expected, he's rocking blonde hair in a trademark 90s comic book style.

However, it's the fact a Spider-Woman Variant is shown saying "Ew, no, we do not talk to Ben Reilly" which has really piqued our interest.

Ben is Peter Parker's clone, and we'd bet that the Spider Society has no time for a duplicate like him. If so, that could make this particular wall-crawler a valuable ally to Miles Morales, especially after Spider-Man 2099 sets out to take the teenager down! While not confirmed, it's thought that Andy Samberg will voice Ben in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Check out the artwork below.

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn's full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.

But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

The movie stars Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Karan Soni, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham, and Oscar Isaac.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is set to be released in theaters on June 2, 2023.
