Illumination Entertainment, the studio behind the likes of Despicable Me, Minions, The Secret Life of Pets, and The Grinch, will be rebooting (or rather reviving) the Shrek franchise.

Whether that's good news or bad news seems to vary from person to person. Even the band Smash Mouth are uncertain how to feel. The band's official Twitter account, in response to the news, simply tweeted an amusing "What?"

Smash Mouth are, of course, relevant to the Shrek franchise as their hit song "All Star" iconically featured in the opening of the first film. And, along with the Shrek film itself, All Star had somewhat of a resurgence as of late.

Chris Melendandri, the founder of Illumination, recently announced that film (via Variety) and stated that the franchise simply wouldn't be the same without the cast of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, and Antonio Banderas, so perhaps there's a chance that Smash Mouth will also be a part of the upcoming revival.

What do you think about Smash Mouth's tweet? Would you like to see the band be a part of Illumination's reboot? You can check out the afformentioned iconic opening scene below:

Illumination's Shrek doesn't currently have a set release date.
