Sarah Silverman, who voices Vanellope von Schweetz in Walt Disney Animation Studios'
Ralph Breaks the Internet has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Silverman, who is the 2,649th star, has played a key role in Hollywood over the years but also serves as a cultural influence on many.
The two-time Emmy Award winner serves as creator, executive producer, and host Hulu's
I Love You, America, a weekly half-hour topical show that "sees her looking to connect with people who may not agree with her personal opinions through honesty, humor, genuine interest and not taking herself too seriously." Silverman also lends her voice to Fox's Emmy Award-winning animated series
Bob's Burgers.
On the big screen, starred in
I Smile Back, a film adaptation of the Amy Koppelman novel which premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. Silverman portrayed Laney Brooks, a role for which she earned a 2016 Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role. She's also had roles in numerous other films, including
Ashby, School of Rock, There's Something About Mary, The Book of Henry, and, of course, the Oscar-nominated hit
Wreck-it Ralph.
Silverman will once again return to the pixelated video game world as Vaneloppe, the razor-tongued princess from the game
Sugar Rush. In the highly anticipated sequel, Ralph and Vaneloppe leave Litwak's arcade and journey into the expansive world wide web in search for a part to fix her game. But what the dynamic duo find is way more than they expected.
In “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” video-game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and best friend Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) leave the comforts of Litwak’s arcade in an attempt to save her game, Sugar Rush. Their quest takes them to the vast, uncharted world of the internet where they rely on thecitizens of the internet—the Netizens—to help navigate their way. Lending a virtual hand are Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), the head algorithm and the heart andsoul of the trend-making site “BuzzzTube,” and Shank (voice of Gal Gadot), a tough-as-nails driver from a gritty online auto-racing game called Slaughter Race, a place Vanellope wholeheartedly embraces—so much so that Ralph worries he may lose the only friend he’s ever had.
Ralph Breaks the Internet hits theaters on November 21, 2018. You can find Silverman's star at 6,600 Hollywood Boulevard in front of the Hollywood Toy & Costume Shop.
