According to a new report by
The Hollywood Reporter, new
Power Rangers movie is in the works at Paramount Pictures. Jonathan Entwistle is in early talks to helm the reboot — he's best known for creating Netflix's
The End of the F***ing World. Patrick Burleigh (
Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway) is writing the film's script.
The most recent
Power Rangers movie, that being the one from 2017, attempted to modernise the franchise that began back with
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers back in 1993. However, that film didn't do very well critically and only just turned a profit financially.
This new
Power Rangers movie will reportedly involve a time-travel element and take place during the 1990s with the film's protaonists needing to find a way back to present day.
This will be the franchise's first after being purchased by Hasbro last year. Not much is known about the project beyond that but we'll be sure to keep you updated as more is revealed.
