In the wake of Thanksgiving, the build up to Christmas has begun - and there's nothing that will get you into the Christmas spirit more than this classic tale from Dr. Seuss.

Tonight, NBC will be airing the animated special from 1966 which adapts the everlasting, evergreen tale of The Grinch - from the 1957 book: How The Grinch Stole Christmas. The animated special, of the same name, follows the Grinch, a grouchy, solitary creature who attempts to put an end to Christmas by stealing Christmas-themed items from the homes of the nearby town Whoville on Christmas Eve.

It'll be airing at 7pm. This isn't the only adaptation of the classic tale however as it has also been remade in live-action, in a film of the same name, starring Jim Carrey and will be animated into a movie, simply titled The Grinch, by Illumination Entertainment and starring Benedict Cumberbatch - the latter of which recently released in theatres.

Will you be watching How The Grinch Stole Christmas tonight? Are you looking forward to Illumination's The Grinch?
