Earlier this week, Disney unveiled the first full-length trailer for Aladdin. Guy Ritchie's live-action adaptation of the animated Disney classic boasts an impressive cast of stars, including Will Smith as the Genie and Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine. Now, another prominent Hollywood actor has been unveiled. Alan Tudyk provided the voice of Iago, the wise-cracking parrot sidekick of Jafar.
Tudyk has starred in a number of Disney films, providing the voice of King Candy in
Wreck-It Ralph, Duke of Weselton in
Frozen, Alistair Krei in
Big Hero 6, Duke Weaselton in
Zootopia, and KnowsMore in
Ralph Breaks the Internet. He also voiced K-2SO, the reprogrammed Imperial security droid and co-pilot of Cassian Andor, in
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Currently, Tudyk is starring in DC's
Doom Patrol as the villainous narrator, Mr. Nobody.
Despite now having seen two teasers and a full-length trailer for Aladdin, we've yet to actually see much of Iago. The character was only briefly seen in the first teaser, so it's unclear how large of a role he'll have in the upcoming movie. Iago was originally voiced by Gilbert Gottfried in the 1992 animated movie and its sequels.
