The upcoming sequel to Wreck-It Ralph will see all of Disney's iconic princesses come together - and in a new image, released by Entertainment Weekly, they're all sporting cool, new outfits.
Ralph Breaks The Internet will feature fan-favourite characters: Mulan, Jasmine, Elsa, Anna, Tiana, Snow White, Pocahontas, Rapunzel, Merida, and Cinderella - as well as Vanellope, the film's star.
Each of the popular female characters are adorning jackets, sneakers, and pyjamas rather than their typical gowns, dresses, and glass slippers. Check out the image below:
Snow White's jumper features a poison apple, while the snow queen's outfit references her popular song, reading "Just Let It Go". Mulan's jacket referneces Mushu, her friendly dragon, while the rest are sporting relaxed outfits which contrast what you'd imagine they'd be wearing.
Sarah Silverman, told Entertainment Weekly, that she's proud of what her character represents - her outfit and body shape inspiring a more realistic look:
I’m very proud of my character being a Disney princess with a human waist. I love that she is a princess but wears, like, a hoodie, and she inspires them all to wear comfortable clothes. It didn’t really cross my mind that I’m a Disney princess — like, that I’m canon— until we all met this year, and I got a little choked up. It’s corny, I know, but I was like, ‘Oh s—t, right. I’m this Jewish, comfortable-clothes-wearing Disney princess. How cool is that?
According to, co-director, Phil Johnston the princesses' involvement fits the animated franchise perfectly:
It’s what Wreck-It Ralph was about: What happens when the arcade is closed and how do these characters behave when no one’s looking? And it’s very similar to what happens when you’re backstage in the princesses’ dressing room. What do they do? What do they look like? What do they talk about?
What do you think of the cast's comments? Are you a fan of the princesses' new looks?
