Starting in 2010 with Alice in Wonderland, Disney has released a string of successful live-action remakes over the last few years, including Maleficent, Cinderella, The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast and more.  Still to come are Aladdin, The Lion King, Mulan and Dumbo.

Speaking to USA Today to promote the Asbury Park Music & Film Festival (April 26 to 29), the Emmy Award-winning actor briefly touched on his role in the Tim Burton-directed film.

"I played basically the same part in Dumbo that I played in Big Fish: I own a circus," he says. "Now if you think back, in (Batman Returns), the Penguin had a circus troupe. So there’s a theme. This is the completion of our circus trilogy.

Dumbo is slated to hit theaters on March 29, 2019.
