Emma Stone is set to star in yet another live-action Disney remake of sorts. This time it's an origin story for the iconic 101 Dalmatians villain: Cruella de Vil. Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya) is reportedly attached to direct and it's script is being written by Tony McNamara (The Favourite).

As well as Stone (La La Land), also set to star in the upcoming Cruella movie is Emma Thompson (Sense and Sensibility). While her role is currently unknown; recently, another actor was reported as joining the live-action film. According to a report by Variety, Paul Walter Hauser will feature in Cruella.

Hauser is best known for his roles in I, Tonya, BlacKkKlansman, and Late Night. As mentioned above, the currently attached director of Cruella also directed the former of those films. Thompson starred in the latter.

The DisInsider's Skyler Shuler (@Skylerhxc) followed up these reports with the role that Hauser will be playing — that of Cruella's henchman named Horace. He'll also have a partner in crime named Jasper who, unlike the original, animated film, will be played by a black actor.

Cruella is set to arrive in theatres on December 23rd, 2020.
