Check Out Beyoncé's New Song "Spirit" From The Official Soundtrack For Disney's THE LION KING
TV spots have featured footage that tease the artist's work on The Lion King, but now Beyoncé herself has released an original track from the upcoming Disney remake. Hit the jump to check out her new single.
Beyoncé is one of many superstars that form the cast of Disney's upcoming The Lion King remake, and like many of her other co-stars, the Grammy-winning artist will contribute to the film's official soundtrack.
However, while most of her fellow cast members will largely be performing iconic songs like "Can You Feel The Love Tonight," Queen Bey will also produce some original pieces for the movie, which she recently gave fans a taste of with the release of a new single.
Titled "Spirit," the track was written by Beyoncé, IIya Salmanzadeh and Timothy McKenzie will appear in on both the official soundtrack for The Lion King and a companion album called The Lion King: The Gift.
While details on the companion album are being kept under wraps, an official statement confirmed that it will be produced and curated by Beyoncé and will feature songs from "important African artists of the day," who will "bring the authentic sounds of African music to the world."
The Lion King, which is directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Jungle Book), is set to hit theaters on July 18.
