Paramount Pictures' Bumblebee will finally roll into theaters next month, and to continue building anticipation for the film, the studio has released a brand-new featurette for the upcoming live-action project, highlighting the beautiful designs for the various Transformers featured in the movie.

As we saw in previous trailers for the film, Bumblebee will be moving away from the visual aesthetic established in Michael Bay's series of Transformers film's and will be embracing the designs that fans of the original Gen 1 cartoons loved.

Now, a new featurette—which can be viewed below—provides some insight into that creative decision, as director Travis Knight and a few of the movie's stars express their love for the animated series from the 80s.

Bumblebee will race into theaters on December 21 with a cast that includes Hailee Steinfeld (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), John Cena (Ferdinand), and Angela Bassett (Black Panther).
