Deadline has revealed that original Boss Baby helmer Tom McGrath will be returning to direct the sequel, which was first announced back in 2017 after the first film's release. The Dreamworks Animation pic was a surprise, securing an Academy Award nomination on the way to grossing $527 M USD at the worldwide box office.
Netflix purchased the rights to a Dreamworks TV animated series which premiered in April 2018 and has produced 26 episodes to date.
Boss Baby 2 will mark McGrath's 6th Dreamworks Animation project, following the Madagascar trilogy, Megamind and the first installment. The sequel will be released on March 26, 2021, with Alec Baldwin reprising the titular role.
