The Annecy International Animation Film Festival is known for bringing some of the biggest news in the world of animation, and now we have some about DreamWorks' upcoming animated feature,
Abominable. While we've known for some time that Chloe Bennett
(Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) will be voice acting in the film, we now have some information on who will be joining her!
The film is currently in production and will be released by Universal Pictures worldwide in 2019, while being distributed by Pearl in China. The movie will see Bennett voice Yi, a teen who is tasked with helping reunite a magical yeti with his family.
Joining Bennett is Tenzing Norgay Trainor
(Liv and Maddie). He will be lending his vocal talents to the animation as Yi's teenage neighbor, Jin. Albert Tsai, a young American Actor best known for his work on shows such as
Fresh Off The Boat, Dr. Ken, and Trophy Wife, will star as Jin's younger cousin, Peng. Tsai Chin
(The Joy Luck Club) will also be voicing as Yi's irascable and loving grandmother, Nai Nai. In the photo below you can see Trainor, Tsai, and Chin, from left to right.
From Director Jill Culton (Open Season), Co-Director Todd Welderman (Home, Croods), Producer Suzanne Buirgy (Kung Fu Panda 2, Home), and Executive Producer Tim Johnson (Over The Hedge, Antz, Home), comes Abominable, an epic 3000-mile journey from the streets of Shanghai to the breathtaking Himalayan snowscapes. When a mischievous group of friends encounter a young Yeti, they embark upon an epic quest to reuinite the magical creature with his family at the highest point on Earth.
