One of the biggest staples in American television over the past 30 years has been the science fiction series, The X-Files. Since its premiere, it has both intrigued and scared fans with its unique take on the supernatural and extraterrestrial life.
Over the decades, the franchise has spawned movies and spin-off series that continue the journey of Mulder and Scully while they try to prove that the truth is out there. Its original run began in 1993 and ended in 2002; however, a revival series ran from 2016 to 2018.
The X-Files: Albuquerque is a brand new comedy spin-oof coming from Rocky Russo and Jeremy Sosenko (Paradise PD and Bricklberry). This upcoming animated series will see the strange and peculiar cases that the franchise is known for being handed to a pair of goofy agents who spend their time taking on these completely absurd cases that Mulder and Scully are too busy for.
While there is no official footage or release date set, the series looks to take the best things about the original show and add a comedic twist that is sure to make it a standout. Don't forget to share your thoughts on the new show in the comments!
The X-Files follows the careers and personal lives of FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson). Mulder is a talented profiler and strong believer in the supernatural. He is also adamant about the existence of intelligent extraterrestrial life and its presence on Earth. Agent Scully is a foil for Mulder in this regard. As a medical doctor and natural skeptic, Scully approaches cases with complete detachment even when Mulder, despite his considerable training, loses his objectivity. She is partnered with Mulder initially so that she can debunk Mulder's nonconforming theories, often supplying logical, scientific explanations for the cases' apparently unexplainable phenomena.
