Back in the 90s, when it came to hit cartoons from FOX, people would more than likely turn to shows like The Simpsons and King of the Hill. Now, as animation has hit a stride and following the inclusion of the Animation Domination programming block, people will more than likely think of shows like Bob's Burgers and Family Guy when mentioning FOX shows.
With its irreverence and ways to stay topical, Seth McFarlane's Family Guy is talked about by both fans of the series and those who love to hate it for its brand of dark humor and difficult topics. However, it seems as though the people who love the show will have two more seasons as the series has now been greenlit all the way to season 20!
Another show, albeit a much more tame series, is Loren Bouchard's Bob's Burgers. The family-oriented show feels more in line with how The Simpsons was structured, and that, mixed with its unique characters and voice talents, has earned being one of the top cartoons out right now. Much like Family Guy, the series has also been renewed for two more seasons (through season 13); with Fox Entertainment president Michael Thorn Stating “’ Family Guy’ and ‘Bob’s Burgers’ are key pillars of our network’s success. By taking the genre to new heights and driving pop culture in meaningful ways, they’ve laid the foundation for making Animation Domination one of the most powerful program blocks in all of television. Both of these two-season renewals affirm once again our commitment to animation and empower us to continue in our build as the leader in the space with distinct and fresh new comedies. We’d like to thank Seth, Loren and their entire teams, not to mention our partners at 20th Television, and we’re excited to continue these great shows with them.”
With so much opportunity opened up for both series, who knows what the next two seasons will hold! Make sure to share your thoughts on the announcement in the comments below!
