Fox has been home to many animated comedies over the years and features an Animation Domination block every Sunday night. Currently the list of programming that makes up that time-block includes The Simpsons, Family Guy, Bob's Burgers, and the newest show to the lineup, Duncanville.

With everyone home during the quarantine, television viewing numbers have gone through the roof. However, production has halted on most live action features due to work restrictions. Luckily for animation fans, cartoons are able to survive by staff working from home to create new content.

One such example is Fox's new recap show, Anidom Beyond. The series airs after the Animation Domination block on Sunday nights and features a recap of the night's episodes. Andy Richter hosts the show and brings on guests from differen't Fox animation comedies and communicates with fans to get their questions to the creators live.

We were recently given the opportunity to chat with Andy Richter (Conan) regarding his new recap series and we learned quite a bit of details about the structure of the show along with discussing Duncanville. Check out what the comedian and actor had to say below!

Joe: I’d like to start off by asking you about the new show you are hosting, the Anidom Beyond Show. Can you go into a bit of detail on what the show is exactly?

Andy Richter: Well, it's basically a recap show. It went very well and it's me in my living room on a Zune meeting and the first thing we do is a recap, which is the Anidom News. Anidom is Animation Domination and it's been confusing some people because it sounds like an evil corporation from an Arnold Schwarzeneger movie.

So we did a recap and the first night it was The Simpsons, Family Guy, Bob’s Burgers, and Duncanville. And we sort of go over what happened with those in a news format. And then the rest of the first episode I spoke with Julie Thacker Scully and Mike Scully who created Duncanville alongside Amy Poehler.

Joe: Yeah, I spoke with them last week actually.

Andy Richter: Yeah, it was a focus on Duncanville because hopefully this Anidom Beyond show will continue but right now it's just five weeks because the next five weeks are all new programming for the animation block on Fox. So we’re doing five weeks of it focusing on one show with each episode. And for the fifth one we’ll figure out what we’re gonna do then, but for the first episode we did Duncanville.

I think they want to get the word out for it more so it was an interview with them and then I also intercept questions from the people who are watching in comments and put those up for Mike and Julie. So it's a live podcast really of behind the scenes and what makes it work with Fox’s animation.

Joe: I had talked to Mike, Julie, and Yassir Lester about Duncanville. What do you think of the new series?

Andy Richter: Oh I think it's really funny. Fox’s comedies are almost without exception family comedies unlike workplace comedies like the show I had. So initially with Duncanville I thought okay, well it's another Fox animated family show.

But what kind of sets this one apart is that it is from the teen’s perspective. Most of the other Fox animated shows have younger kids like The Simpsons and even Bob’s Burgers so this is sort of going to be more focused on the lives of teenagers. It's really funny and silly and goofy.

Joe Is there anything else you would like to share with your fans about the show or any of your other projects?

Andy Richter: I just hope people check it out if they are a fan of Animation Domination. Right after the shows are done at 7 pm PST and 10 pm EST., get on Caffiene.tv and learn a little bit more about what went into the shows. If you care about animation and are interested then it will be a worthwhile conversation for you to eavesdrop on and actually participate in.

What do you think about these comments from Anidom Beyond host Andy Richter? Take a look at the trailer and synopsis for Fox's new show, Duncanville, below.

Duncanville centers on the life of Duncan Harris, an average 15-year-old boy, who is always one step away from making a bad decision. Along with Duncan lives his mom, a parking enforcement officer, who dreams of being a detective someday and always has to watch Duncan; his dad, who tries to be a better father figure to Duncan than his father was to him; his sister Kimberly, who is a normal teenager going through normal teen-phases; and his other adopted Asian sister Jing, who is an intelligent 5-year-old who is always giving Duncan advice.

Anidom Beyond airs live on Caffeine on Sundays at 7 pm PST and 10 pm EST. It can be viewed here.
