Marvel Cinematic Universe fanatics who have been keeping up with the phase four releases on Disney+ recently learned of the concept of variants in Season 1 of Loki. The series finale also revealed that Jonathan Majors (Lovecraft Country) played the villain of the show, He Who Remains.
What's important to note is that Majors was confirmed to be playing Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania, confirming that these two superior beings are both variants of the same person from different timelines yet both reside outside of time.
With Uatu the Watcher being the newest all-seeing being, it begs the question if he could also be a variation of the characters Majors is playing, but one who chooses not to intervene unlike the main goal of both Kang the Conqueror and He Who Remains.
It's important to note that Uatu the Watcher is voiced by Jeffrey Wright (Westworld), but that doesn't rule out the theory. For one, many of the MCU characters in What If...? have been re-cast with different voice actors. Also, having Majors voice Uatu would give away what could be an intriguing and surprising reveal.
It would line up if this winds up being the case considering Uatu the Watcher, He Who Remains, and Kang the Conqueror are all similar beings that watch all of space and time - but what do you guys think? Is this a stretch or something that could potentially be revealed to tie these projects together? Be sure to sound off in the usual spot!
