It goes without saying that movie-goers have been less than thrilled with all of the pandemic-related delays and cancellations due to COVID-19, as the regulations have made theater viewing less than optimal and particularly dangerous.
Another way that the pandemic has affected media is in story-telling itself. While there were already many apocalyptic and dystopian tales in multiple mediums, the focus has certainly seemed to shift when it comes to the plot and dialogue of projects that don't even involve such disaster.
Disney+ is teeing up a perfect example with a new series of shorts titled Walt Disney Animation Studios Presents Goofy In How To Stay At Home. The program's name may well be the longest thing about it, as the series features three short stories, all in hand-drawn animation.
The focus of this animated series is very clearly the pandemic. However, even if the title didn't give it away, the episodes are called How to Wear a Mask, Learning to Cook, and Binge Watching. All three will clearly paint a picture of what it is like adapting to the world's conditions and hopefully will serve to make kids a little more comfortable with their uneasy situations.
With the new program premiering alongside Marvel Studios' What If...?, it's a wonder if this animated content was timed. Still, be sure to share your thoughts on whether or not you plan on tuning in with your family next week!
Walt Disney Animation Studios Presents Goofy in How to Stay at Home begins streaming on Wednesday, August 11th, on Disney+.
