It's almost been a year since
Kingdom Hearts III officially released for a plethora of platforms. Today, a new DLC expansion releases — called
Kingdom Hearts III Re:Mind. But that's not all that's going on in the Kingdom Hearts world right now!
Game director Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed that there are multiple new
Kingdom Hearts projects in the works. It's said that two new teams are at work on the franchise as well as a mobile team and the team that just concluded work on
Kingdom Hearts III.
Nomura teased that one of the projects is coming
"surprisingly soon," and an official
Kingdom Hearts mobile game was promptly announced.
"Project Xehanort" is an all-new
Kingdom Hearts experience in the works for iOS and Android devices and a Spring 2020 release.
The game's official page over on
Square Enix's website implores fans to guess the name and teases some story details.
"Why did he become the seeker of Darkness?" says the page in question. This implies that the game will tell the tale of how Xehanort fell to the darkness and became the franchise's big bad.
