Frozen 2 debuted in theatres back in November of last year. The animated film is a sequel to 2013's Frozen and sees the voice cast return to reprise their roles, including Kristen Bell as Anna, Idina Menzel as Elsa, Jonathan Groff as Kristoff, and Josh Gad as Olaf.
While in theatres, Frozen 2 earned a total of $1.4 billion, which makes it the second highest-grossing animated movie of all time — behind Disney's recent remake of The Lion King. Frozen 2 also earned an Academy Award, not in the "Best Animated Feature Film" category as you might expect, but in the "Best Original Song" category for "Into the Unknown."
The animated sequel has been available to stream on Disney+ in the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand since March — more on that here. Those in the United Kingdom and Ireland have unfortunately had to wait until now to watch Frozen 2 on Disney's streaming service.
As of today (July 3rd), Frozen 2 is available to stream on Disney+ in both the United Kingdom and Ireland (via @DisneyPlusUK). What's more, Into the Unknown: Making Frozen 2 was added to the streaming service just a week ago. Naturally, that delves into the behind-the-scenes of the animated sequel.
Why was Elsa born with magical powers? What truths about the past await Elsa as she ventures into the unknown to the enchanted forests and dark seas beyond Arendelle? The answers are calling her but also threatening her kingdom. Together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, she'll face a dangerous but remarkable journey. In “Frozen,” Elsa feared her powers were too much for the world. In “Frozen 2,” she must hope they are enough.
