Back in March, Disney+ shared a first look at Tom Hanks as Geppetto in the upcoming live-action adaptation of the classic animated film Pinocchio. Today, May 31st, we'll get our first teaser trailer.
The trailer for the upcoming Disney+ movie will be revealed on Good Morning America and likely uploaded to YouTube and social media shortly thereafter. Disney and ABC released a 30-second teaser for the debut trailer, which actually features some footage from the film.
We once again see Tom Hanks as Geppetto wishing upon a star, followed by a quick glimpse of the CGI Jiminy Cricket (voiced by Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and then our first look the lovely Blue Fairy (played by Cynthia Erivo). We only get a brief look at Pinnochio from behind but the trailer will surely reveal more. Benjamin Evan Ainsworth (The Haunting of Bly Manor) will be voicing the titular puppet. The entire teaser is accompanied with a beautiful rendition of the classic song "When You Wish Upon A Star."
Disney's live-action Pinocchio is set to release on Disney+ this September. As a reminder, it's one of two adaptations of the classic tale as Netflix will be releasing Guillermo Del Toro's stop-motion musical version in December of this year.
