Back in the late '80s and early '90s, Disney released a series of sing along videos aptly titled Disney Sing-Along Songs. Each compilation consisted of musical scenes from various Disney films along with the lyrics so that you could sing along with them. While VHS tapes, and even DVDs to a certain extent, have sort of waned out over the years, singing along to your favorite Disney songs remains popular. And now Disney is making it easier than ever on Disney+.
Disney has plans to release Sing-Alongs of some of its most popular musicals on Disney+, beginning with Walt Disney Animation Studios' Encanto this Friday, March 18. Disney's Encanto Sing-Along will provide the lyrics to the film's critically-acclaimed songs. There's unfortunately no bouncing Mickey Head as the bouncing ball, but it's still easy to track the words.
Encanto premiered on Disney+ on December 24 and quickly became one of Disney's most popular movies thanks, in large part, to its original songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Songs like "We Don't Talk About Bruno," "Family Madrigal," "Surface Pressure," and "Dos Oruguitas" have helped contribute to the soundtrack of Encanto surging to No. 1 on the Billboard charts. And now you'll be able to sing along to them in your home through Disney+.
In addition to the Encanto Sing-Along, Disney+ has plans to release additional sing alongs to other popular musicals, including Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen, Frozen 2, Beauty and the Beast (1991), and Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast (2017).
