Disney Lorcana creator Ravensburger has confirmed that the previously announced restock will hit local game stores next week. Since first arriving at major retailers in September, the collectible card game has been in high demand and short supply. These days, it's pretty much impossible to find Starter Decks, let alone booster packs to add to your collection.
That will hopefully change soon. While we don't have a specific date, you should begin contacting your local game stores early next week to see if there are plans for them to receive any updated Disney Lorcana shipments.
It's unclear if "local game stores" refers to all Disney Lorcana partners -- including big box retailers such as Walmart, Target and Best Buy -- or if the restock is simply meant to support local mom-and-pop hobby stores. In any case, it's probably worth checking everywhere.
Ravensburger refers to this as the "October booster pack restock," which suggests the new shipments will only be booster packs and not starter packs or the specially packaged Gift Set or Illumineer's Trove. This has also only been confirmed for North American retailers.
Ravensburger didn't specify the supply in this upcoming restock but did state that their ultimate goal is to make this product "readily available" for all who are interested. This would seemingly suggest that the company is more focused on delivering an ample supply of the cards rather than restricting how many are printed to retain value for collectors. Although this upcoming restock may still not satisfy the immediate demand for Disney Lorcana, it sounds like Ravensburger will continue to print more boosters.
In addition to the October restock, reprints of The First Chapter boosters and starters are being moved up and should now begin shipping in mid-November in North America. There will be no difference between the first print and this reprint in terms of any sort of designation on the card itself.
"Our goal is for fans to have no difficulty finding product to get started," the company said. That being said, I'm sure there will still be a few rare cards, such as Enchanted rarities, that remain rather hard to find and therefore retain their value despite the increased card supply.
Also arriving in November is Disney Lorcana's second set of cards, Rise of the Floodborn. This set will also hit local game stores starting November 17th, followed by a wider release on December 1st.
