Just days after the release of Disney Lorcana's second set, Rise of the Floodborn, Ravensburger has revealed the next set. Set 3 is named Into the Inklands, and is scheduled to arrive in early 2024. While many of the details are still a mystery, Ravensburger did reveal that the set will introduce a new Locations card type, something that was previously leaked but now confirmed.

Location cards will allow players to travel beyond the Great Illuminary and into the surrounding Inklands where they can visit the locations from popular Disney stories, such as Motonui from Disney's Moana and the Jolly Roger from Disney's Peter Pan. On social media, Ravensburger shared an additional third location: Forbidden Mountain (Maleficent's Castle).

The Disney Lorcana TCG set Into the Inklands continues the story of the Illumineers who were mysteriously transported to the realm of Lorcana (The First Chapter). After accidentally unleashing a flood of mixed ink (Rise of the Floodborn) that scattered precious lore throughout the realm, Illumineers are now tasked with finding the lore and returning it to the Hall of Lorcana. However, their quest may be more treacherous than they realize, as an ominous shadow storm has been spotted gathering at the edges of Lorcana, adding urgency and mystery to the path ahead.

This new mechanic will open up additional strategies as locations can provide bonuses when characters visit them, or provide additional benefits just from being in play. One of the new cards, for example, Peter Pan (Lost Boy Leader) gains additional lore by moving to various locations. Minnie Mouse (Funky Spelunker) gains two Strength at a location.

Like the previous Disney Lorcana sets, Into the Inklands will introduce more than 200 new cards that not only expand upon the game mechanics but also provide additional game narrative through quotes and descriptive text.

Into the Inklands will feature a mixture of new and returning characters. Making their debut will be Disney's Pluto and 101 Dalmatian's Perdita. The new set will also channel some late-90s nostalgia with characters like Scrooge McDuck from DuckTales, Kit Cloudkicker from TaleSpin, and Jim Hawkins and the RLS Legacy crew from Treasure Planet. Product images also confirm returning fan favorites like Piglet, Jafar, Stitch, Peter Pan and Moana.

Disney Lorcana: Into the Inklands will release first at local game stores on February 23, 2024, followed by mass market retailers (Amazon, Target Best Buy, etc.) on March 8, 2024.

Into the Inklands will feature two new Starter Decks featuring combinations of Amber/Emerald (Pongo/Peter Pan) or Sapphire/Ruby (Scrooge/Moana) for $16.99 each. There will also be booster packs ($5.99), a new Illumineer's Trove ($49.99), a Gift Set ($29.99), and play accessories including Card Sleeves ($9.99), Deck Boxes ($5.99), Card Portfolios ($19.99) and Playmats ($19.99).

“With each new release, enthusiasm and excitement for the Disney Lorcana TCG grows in magnitude,” said Filip Francke, Global Head of Games at Ravensburger. “Watching this community consistently grow and become more diverse tells us that we are getting it just right with Disney fans who are completely charmed by the art and stories, TCG die-hards who appreciate the strategic gameplay, and even new players who have tried their very first TCG and now play every weekend.”
