DISNEY LORCANA: RISE OF THE FLOODBORN Set 2 Pre-Orders Start To Go Live

In just a few days, Rise of the Floodborn, the second set of cards for Ravensburger's Disney Lorcana, will be released at local game stores. But it seems that pre-orders have already started at some big box retailers.

Although Rise of the Floodborn won't hit mass retailers like Amazon, Target, Walmart, and Best Buy until December 1st, pre-orders for the highly anticipated second set could go live earlier.

In fact, just today on Amazon, a listing opened up for pre-orders of the Rise of the Floodborn Booster Box. Although now currently unavailable, the booster box, which contains 24 booster packs, was available in the early morning hours before many on the East Coast even woke up. Those up early enough though were rewarded with the ability to pre-order up to two boxes.

The listing wasn't without some question though. The actual listing itself seemed to suggest it may be for French cards, although an Amazon spokesperson appeared to confirm that it was indeed for English packs. As noted on social media, the ASIN on Amazon France also said it was in English.

I can confirm that I was able to purchase a box for $143.99, the suggested MSRP, and did get a confirmation email (in English) that stated they'll offer a follow-up email as soon as they have a delivery date. It should hopefully be around December 1st, which is when Rise of the Floodborn releases at mass retail.

While there is some hesitation surrounding the listing, it at least suggests that pre-orders for Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn are starting to go live. Previously, the only way to pre-order was through your local game store, if they were even offering it. The handling of pre-orders for Rise of the Floodborn seems to vary from store to store and many local game stores are charging above the suggested MSRP, making them no better than those who scalp products and sell them for nearly double or triple the price.

If Amazon starts to open up pre-orders for Rise of the Floodborn, then it could signal that other big retailers, like Best Buy, Walmart, and Target could soon follow suit. Unlike local game stores, card packs sold at these larger retailers tend to be available online and at MSRP.

Rise of the Floodborn will introduce 200 new cards into the game with cards inspired by Disney classics like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, The Great Mouse Detective and The Jungle Book. There are also some animated films making their debut such as Zootopia and Raya and the Last Dragon.

In addition to Booster Packs, the new set of cards will include two new Starter Decks and specific Set 2 accessories (playmats, deck boxes, etc.). There's also the Disney Lorcana: Disney100 Edition Collection Set, arriving on December 1st.

If you're desperate to get your hands on the new cards as soon as possible, check your local game store as they should be available starting this Friday, November 17.
