Disney Lorcana: Into the Inklands is set to arrive in just a few weeks. The third set in Ravensburger's hit collectible card game will first be released at local game stores on February 23, followed by a release at mass market retailers such as Amazon, Target, and Best Buy on March 8.
With less than a month to go, some retailers have started to take pre-orders for the highly anticipated set. Because Ravensburger opts to support local game stores before launching their product in mass retailers, pre-ordering the set can be a little confusing.
First off, most of the major retailers aren't taking pre-orders for Into the Inklands yet. ShopDisney, for example, won't start selling the new set until its actual release date on March 8. The same is likely true for retailers like Amazon, Best Buy and Target.
That being said, there's a good chance your local game store has already started to take pre-orders. Most of these smaller stores don't typically have an online website that you can buy from, but mid-size stores are taking online pre-orders.
Game Nerdz is one of the more reputable websites taking pre-orders for Into the Inklands. What's more, they are selling the Into the Inklands Booster Box for just $129.97 (with free shipping) which is less than MSRP. Unfortunately, it's sold out right now, but you can set restock notifications to be alerted when they get more.
Also available are the two Into the Inklands starter decks. Both can be purchased for $29.97, which is slightly less than if you were to buy them individually.
If you aren't comfortable pre-ordering the new set online from a website you may not be familiar with, then your best option for pre-ordering is to call your local game store. It seems that supply for Set 3 will be must easier to acquire than with the previous two sets.
Disney Lorcana's premiere set, The First Chapter, was released in late August/early September 2023. It was followed by Chapter 2: Rise of the Floodborn on November 17.
The game's unprecedented demand caught Ravensburger by surprise. Not expecting it to blow up like it did, there was short supply for the first two sets, resulting in price gouging among many retailers.
Shortly after the game's launch, Ravensburger vowed to increase supply and in late November, around the launch of Set 2, we got more of The First Chapter. Disney Lorcana cards feel much easier to find at stores now, so hopefully that bodes well for the release of Into the Inklands.
Into the Inklands will feature two new Starter Decks featuring combinations of Amber/Emerald (Pongo/Peter Pan) or Sapphire/Ruby (Scrooge/Moana) for $16.99 each. There will also be booster packs ($5.99), a new Illumineer's Trove ($49.99), a Gift Set ($29.99), and play accessories including Card Sleeves ($9.99), Deck Boxes ($5.99), Card Portfolios ($19.99) and Playmats ($19.99).
The new set features new cards inspired by many popular shows from the late '90s, including TaleSpin, DuckTales, and Treasure Planet. The set will also introduce a new card type, Locations.
