CINDERELLA: Disney Teams With Kristen Wiig & Annie Mumolo For Live-Action Film About The Evil Step-Sisters

It has been more than clear that Disney has no qualms about reaching into their classic animated toybox to adapt stories for live-action. Recent examples of this include Cruella, The Lion King, Aladdin, Lady & The Tramp, The Little Mermaid, The Jungle Book, and countless others.

There doesn't seem to be any end in sight. Now, Disney has also announced their partnership with Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids, Wonder Woman 1984) and Annie Mumolo for a new project, although this one is a bit more of a spin-off.

Much like Cruella, the upcoming adaptation will center on the world of Cinderella, but follow the story of the villainous characters. In this case, that means the evil step-sisters.

While it is currently unknown whether Wiig or Mumolo will appear in the film in any capacity, it has been confirmed that neither of them will be titular characters as younger actresses are said to be looked at for the roles.

We obviously don't have any artwork or a trailer for you guys yet, although with the news officially announced, it can't be too long before the public has something to go on. What do you guys think?

In the meantime, Disney fans can take a listen to our interview with Curt Clendenin about his Avengers: Infinity War experience below!

They haven’t even done Snow White, Bambi or Tangled and they’re still somehow scratching the bottom of the barrel anyway.
