Yesterday, Netflix announced at Annecy, an annual animated international film festival, that there are two new animated projects in the works that will be released later this year.
Melissa Cobb, the Vice President of Kids & Family at Netflix, and Aram Yacoubian, the Director of International Originals at Netflix, explained in detail some of the upcoming animated shows that will be featured on the popular online streaming service.
One of the upcoming projects is Hilda, a new series adapted from the Eisner-Award-nominated graphic novels penned by Luke Pearson. The series is centered on an adventurous blue-haired girl named Hilda who deserts her home, travels through an enchanted forest filled with elves and giants until she arrives at the mysterious city of Trolberg. Hilda is voiced by Game of Thrones’ Bella Ramsey, and is directed by Andy Coyle.
The second project revealed at Annecy is the second season of the Netflix original series B: The Beginning, which is directed by Kazuto Nakazawa and produced by Production I.G. The show follows Koku, the main character, and Keith, an investigator for the Royal Investigation Service, as they attempt to navigate the technologically advanced and crime filled world of Cremona. The voice cast includes Hiroaki Hirata and Yuki Kaji.
The full synopsis for the series can be found below:
