Part of what makes
South Park so great is that the show's creators - Trey Parker and Matt Stone - never shy away from tackling controversial topics. After all, you don't make it 22 seasons by playing it safe all the time.
South Park has made it a habit to parody and mock everything and anything. Season 22 is only two episodes in and we've already seen episodes dealing with the desensitization of school shootings and Catholic priests molesting children. Episode three will turn its attention to the circus that has unfolded in the Capital with the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court of the United States. Simultaneously, it will poke fun at Hari Kondabolu's
The Problem With Apu documentary, which detailed
The Simpsons' racist portrayal of Southeast-Asian communities through Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, the Indian convenience store owner.
A teaser for this week's episode,
"The Problem with a Poo," sees the beloved Christmas mascot Mr. Hankey (the Christmas Poo) being asked to testify for his history of inappropriate comments and offensive behavior - all of which he casually dismisses as jokes. Sound familiar? You can hear also Mr. Hankey continuously sniffling, another dig at Brett Kavanaugh's behavior during the hearing.
Mr. Hankey must defend his character or lose everything that is important to him in an all-new episode...
South Park - "The Problem with a Poo" airs tonight, Wednesday, October 10 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central. What do you think of Season 22 so far?
