Agents from Ingress and Trainers from Pokémon Go answered the call last month when Niantic announced plans for their Earth Day 2019 event. After putting in over 41,000 hours on 6 continents, success was had in the form of 145 tons of trash cleaned up across the globe.

Groudon showed up in Raids and Shiny Diglett has arrived as a reward for Trainers in Pokémon Go and for Agents in Ingress, there is now a higher probability of heatsinks, shields, and multi-packs.

“We’re astounded with how much everyone involved has achieved – an effort like this highlights how much impact people can have when they work together. Players worked in groups of 1 to 2,500, alongside government agencies, volunteer organizations, and fellow community members, creating incredible impact.” - Yennie Solheim Fuller, Director of Social Impact at Niantic
