Dove Cameron has been attached to the role of Gwen Stacy since September of last year when she first played the character in
Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors. The actress has since reprised the role in four more
Marvel Rising animated movies — the most notable of those being
Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts which specifically focused on Cameron's web-slinging crimefighter.
Another character which Cameron is known for would be Mal, the daughter of Maleficnent, in Disney's
Descendants film series. For the recently released third instalment of said series, Cameron participated in an interview in which the role of Gwen Stacy came up. The actress told
MTV that she would love to bring her character into live-action.
"Yeah, while I feel like a lot of them have been done recently but, I mean, I would love to play Gwen Stacy... or like a Marvel villain," Cameron said.
